Before yesterday’s game I was rather confident of another 3 points for us, speaking to GH of the CAFC press team he predicted a draw. Yes Scunthorpe were in the Championship last season but I have seen us play a few times and was sticking with a win.
The game itself turned out to be quite even, though I think we slightly edged it but that is football! The looping header from Jackson set us off and then in the second half BWP strikes against the run of play. Unfortunately for us Scunthorpe got a bit of luck to get one goal back, that is all they needed and I will admit I had a bad feeling still tempted fate though with already having the win music ready to blast out! Yes Dave you was right……
91st minute and they go and equalise and make the final scoreĀ 2-2 which is still a good point and result. We are second in the league with MK Dons ahead of us on goal difference only which is not a bad place to be at all after four league games.
I just want to say to fans don’t panic as I have seen a few moaners appear on internet forums and on various social media sites. We must remember this is still a NEW team with a man at the helm who is still NEW to management. Sometimes they will get things wrong but I believe we have the team in place that will learn from these mistakes and they won’t cost us dearly like previous seasons.
Reading tomorrow night which is a chance for some of the fringe players to shine! Hopefully Danny Green will be able to display some more of that crossing talent, I can honestly say that I cannot see Wagstaff keeping his starting place after what I can only describe as a lacklustre performance. He demonstrated to fans that he is just not good enough to be a member of the starting 11 and should be considered a 2nd half impact player.
Until next time, RED ARMY!
