Garry Nelson dropped into the Charlton Live Studio last Saturday to talk about his 650 mile charity bike ride, Garry will be riding from Southend, Mull of Kintyre to Southend, Essex, Starting on 1st October the ride should take around 8 days. Garry and team are raising funds for 2 charities.
The first Charity is a local Charity called Havens Hospices (which
incorporates Fair Havens and Little Havens). It is a Charity which provides
end-of-life care for both adults and children. It is open 24 hours a day, 365
days a year and no patient is charged for the care they receive.
The second Charity is The Willow Foundation, founded by Arsenal legend Bob
Wilson. It is a national Charity which provides special days out for seriously
ill 16 to 40 year olds and gives much needed time out from the stresses of
living with a life-threatening condition. All monies pledged will be split 50:50 between the 2 Charities.
The fundraising target is £5,000 and Charlton Live would love to see Charlton fans dig deep and support Garry in this massive task. Training is well under way for Garry, despite a few spills on along the way.
